Position Overview:

Analyzing, synthesizing, and presenting data and findings as presented from technical and customer engagement team members and express his/her findings in the form of short reports. This role is for an analytically minded person with an insurance background and an interest in cutting-edge insurance technology.

The role is a key bridge between insurance domain experts and tech team members to ensure effective flow of data and information.

Role and Responsibility:

  • Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders - internal SMEs, customers or end users.
  • Collaborate with product manager to determine project scope and vision.
  • Conduct interviews to gather customer requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.
  • Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis to define impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
  • Work with stakeholders and product engineering team to prioritize collected requirements.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements-gathering processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Participate with QA to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized.
  • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
  • Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
  • Translate conceptual requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/engineering team.
  • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the product team.
  • Develop and conduct peer reviews of the business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.
  • Assist with the interpretation of requirements into feasible options and communicating these back to the business stakeholders.
  • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
  • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements — verbally or through written documentation — to product manager, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
  • Support the team in a wider range of other tasks when required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • US Insurance industry knowledge and experience with a preference for insurance agency expertise
  • Knowledge and interest in both the insurance and technology industries
  • Knowledge of some or all of these tools will be a plus
    • JIRA
    • Google Analytics
    • Tableau
    • Any visualization tools like draw.io, etc.
  • Any knowledge of AI, Machine Learning, etc. is a bonus but is not necessary
  • Excellent data presentation skills
  • Should possess creative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Analytical thinking and structured approach to solving problems
